Amsterdam, the Netherlands - Philips Domestic Appliances is adding the new Philips Eco Conscious Edition blender to their sustainable breakfast set. Like the kettle, toaster and coffee maker, the blender is made with bio-based plastic from waste vegetable oil and offers consumers a more sustainable alternative when making their favorite recipes in the blender. The introduction of the Philips Eco Conscious Edition blender fits perfectly with the company’s ambition to develop meaningful and much-loved consumer innovations designed with sustainability at the core. The new blender is equipped with certain high-performing features that have a lower environmental impact, while the overall blender does not compromise on smooth and creamy blended perfection or cutting-edge design.

Henk S. de Jong, CEO Philips Domestic Appliances: “At Philips Domestic Appliances, we are on a journey to become a more sustainable company. We aim to develop products made with more sustainable materials, that are easier to repair, refurbish, recycle, and help to reduce waste. We are working hard to achieve our ambitions by making conscious choices caring for people’s homes and our planet. In 2021, we refurbished 14,300 products and made them available for consumers via Philips.com. Today, we are introducing the newest addition to our eco-friendly breakfast set. I am excited about the road ahead as we continue to reach our goals by creating sustainable solutions and helping people turn their houses into homes.”

Sleek design meets natural materials By choosing for bio-based plastic1 and Tritan™ Renew instead of traditional plastic, consumers can help to grow a better planet by contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions by as much as 17% during production process2, water pollution and limiting overall use of soil resources. But at the same time, they would rather not make concessions in terms of design. Thanks to the nature-inspired design, silk white matte finish, and natural materials, the Philips Eco Conscious Edition blender offers a more sustainable alternative but also has a stylish and clean design. The Philips Eco Conscious Edition Collection was already rewarded with a Red Dot design award in 2022 and the latest addition is a real eye catcher as well - perfect for every kitchen worktop.

The recycled plastic Tritan™ Renew Tumbler makes for a stylish, ergonomic design, doubling-up as a water bottle so people can cut back on single plastic use.

Equipped to stand-up to the rigors of daily use, the recycled plastic tumbler is BPA free, safe for any food contact, dishwasher durable to withstand hundreds of wash cycles, and is impact and shatter resistant. To further reduce waste, it ships wrapped in plastic-free product packaging with the product sleeves made with paper, from 100% recycled content.

A smooth and creamy blend Ensuring the Philips Eco Conscious Edition blender provides smooth and creamy perfection without compromising on its performance is the ProBlend technology that creates an optimal flow of ingredients. ProBlend technology combines three features custom-designed to work perfectly together for smooth blends with no lumps. Firstly, the ProBlend motor delivers 350W power to drive the blending flow and evenly circulate the ingredients. The second feature, the ProBlend blades, are uniquely shaped to maximize force and cutting performance while the ProBlend tumbler is designed with unique ribs to continuously guide ingredients back into the blending flow. Combining the three features guarantees a perfectly smooth blend with no lumps, ideal for that morning breakfast smoothie or lunchtime soup.
